It was reported that a Volkswagen Caravelle carrying schoolkids from Vaalpark collided head-on with a massive Mercedes-Benz truck heading towards Vereeniging, Vaal.
The 60-year-old driver of the Caravelle, along with three kids—a girl and two boys aged between six and nine—passed away on the spot.

Rescue teams raced against time as another young boy was airlifted to a hospital in Alberton, Ekurhuleni in a critical condition.
Three more kids who sustained severe injuries were rushed to local hospitals.
The truck driver managed to survive the terrible impact.
Sasolburg cops have opened a case of culpable homicide and are investigating what caused the deadly crash.
