The Agricultural Development Bank PLC (ADB) held an interdenominational Thanksgiving Service at its Head Office in Accra, bringing together management, staff, and invited clergy to express gratitude to God for a successful 2025 and to seek His guidance in 2026.

The Christian Thanksgiving Service was held in the morning on the 4th Floor of ADB’s Head Office, creating an atmosphere of praise, worship, and reflection.

The service was officiated by Bishop James Saah, who encouraged staff to remain grateful, resilient, and purposeful in the discharge of their duties.

In the afternoon, management joined congregants at the Police Mosque in Cantonments, where prayers were said for the Bank’s leadership, staff, customers, shareholders, and other stakeholders, seeking sustained peace and success.

In his remarks, ADB Managing Director Edward Ato Sarpong noted that the Thanksgiving was a way to express profound gratitude to God for the progress achieved in 2025.

“I have been with the Bank for a year now as the Managing Director, and I can say that the Lord has been merciful to us over the year. We have been able to overcome challenges, and ADB is now on a path of growth and prosperity,” he said.

“Our performance reflects ADB’s deliberate efforts over the past nine months to stabilise operations, strengthen our balance sheet, enhance profitability, and deliver long-term value to our diverse stakeholders, while continuing to support key sectors of the economy, particularly agriculture. We are on course in our three-and-a-half-year strategy to deliver sustainable value and growth for everyone,” Sarpong added.

He further stated that, having witnessed this significant turnaround through discipline and diligence, it was important to give thanks to the Almighty for His guidance in 2025 and to seek His grace as the Bank moves closer to achieving its strategic vision.

“This success could not have happened without the unwavering support and commitment of our staff. I wish to express our profound gratitude to them for their contributions in moving the Bank forward. I believe that together we will achieve even greater heights,” the ADB MD said.

The Thanksgiving Services also provided an opportunity for staff and management to reflect on the Bank’s progress and recommit themselves to ADB’s vision.

ADB reported strong financial performance for the third quarter of 2025, with profit before tax of GH¢447.49 million, representing a 153.66% increase compared to GH¢176.41 million in the same period in 2024.

The Bank also demonstrated strong liquidity, recording a liquid ratio of 130% in Q3 2025, well above the regulatory threshold.

Total assets grew by 17%, rising from GH¢13.87 billion in September 2024 to GH¢16.22 billion in September 2025, reflecting continued balance sheet expansion driven by robust growth in investment securities and deposits.

Net investment securities also rose significantly to GH¢6.45 billion from GH¢4.71 billion in the same period last year.

Other performance indicators also recorded significant improvements in the third quarter of 2025.

In line with regulatory requirements, the Bank will publish its full 2025 financial results within the first quarter of 2026.

ADB continues to pursue its strategic vision of becoming one of the top three banks in Ghana, globally admired for its people, processes, and performance.
