The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has constituted a three-member committee to investigate allegations of widespread inducement and vote-buying during the Ayawaso East Parliamentary Primaries held on Saturday, February 7, 2026.
The move follows an earlier announcement by the party expressing concern over reports of unethical practices during the internal election.
In a press release dated February 7, 2026, the NDC announced that the committee will be chaired by former Minister of Information, Kofi Totobi Quakyi. He will be assisted by the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga, and legal practitioner, Emefa Fugah.
According to the statement, the committee is expected to submit its findings and recommendations by Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

“In line with the Party’s commitment to internal democracy, transparency, and ethical political conduct, the Committee will investigate the allegations and make appropriate recommendations, including sanctions where necessary,” the statement said.
Beyond probing the specific allegations, the committee has also been tasked to propose sustainable measures and reforms aimed at decisively ending inducement and vote-buying in the party’s internal electoral processes.
The NDC assured its members, stakeholders, and the general public of its commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity in its internal elections, urging party supporters to remain calm as the committee carries out its work.
The party indicated that further updates on the matter will be communicated in due course.
