The Ghana cedi ended the first week of February 2026 at GH¢10.98 to the US dollar on the interbank market, with the dollar quoted at GH¢10.97 (buying) and GH¢10.98 (selling).

The euro closed at GH¢12.96, while the pound sterling traded at GH¢14.88.

Rates at forex bureaus were notably higher, with the dollar selling at GH¢11.90 and the euro reaching GH¢14.20.

The pound, on the other hand, climbed to GH¢16.30.

These elevated rates reflect strong demand for foreign exchange amid limited supply.

Many Ghanaians expect the central bank to continue market interventions to stabilise the cedi against major trading currencies.
