Ghana’s year-on-year inflation rate has declined from 5.4 per cent in December 2025 to 3.8 per cent in January 2026, the lowest since the country rebased its economy in 2021. It is also the 13th consecutive month that inflation has fallen indicating price stability, according to the Ghana Statistical Service.
Speaking to the media Wednesday February 4, 2026 in Accra, the Government Statistician, Dr Alhassan Iddrisu said the drop of 1.6 percentage points was driven by the decline in food inflation, which fell to 3.9 per cent.
“The sustained decline signals that Ghana is firmly on a path towards price stability,” he said.
