Veteran journalist and Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr, has questioned remarks made by presidential hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong, following the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.
Kennedy Agyapong, who contested the primaries alongside four other candidates, conceded defeat after the close of polls on January 31, 2026, and called on his supporters to abandon the popular slogan “No Ken, No Vote” ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Addressing his followers, Agyapong urged patience and unity within the party.
“I know we have three years to go. Who knows what will happen? So, I want you to be patient. Don’t say ‘No Ken, No Vote’. That slogan should be out,” he said.
However, Kwesi Pratt Jnr has questioned the basis of Agyapong’s suggestion that “nobody knows what will happen” within the next three years.
Speaking on the matter on a panel discussion on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo on February 3, 2026, Pratt wondered what possible developments the former Assin Central MP might be alluding to.
“Do you remember what Ken said to the ‘No Kennedy, No Vote’ people? He said they should take time because in the three years ahead of us, nobody knows what will happen,” Pratt said.
“So, I am asking, what will happen?”
Pratt suggested that Agyapong’s comments could be interpreted as signalling expectations of future political opportunities, including the possibility of being selected as a running mate or being considered for other strategic roles within the party.
“It is either Dr Bawumia will pick him as a running mate or there are other options that Kennedy Agyapong is trying to communicate,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President of Ghana emerged victorious once again in the NPP presidential primaries, securing the party’s flagbearer position for the 2028 general elections.
According to official results released by the Electoral Commission after the polls on January 31, 2026, Dr Bawumia obtained 110,645 votes, representing 56.48% of the total valid votes cast.
Kennedy Agyapong placed second with 46,554 votes (23.76%), while Dr Bryan Acheampong followed with 36,303 votes (18.53%).
Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum secured 1,999 votes (1.02%), and Kwabena Agyapong obtained 402 votes, representing 0.21%.
