Ghana ready to manufacture, not just import

Vice President Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang says Ghana is ready to shift from being largely import-dependent to local manufacturing.

She said this when she hosted a South Korean trade delegation from Hwaseong on Tuesday February 3, led by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).

The meeting aimed at creating investment opportunities and enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

Prof Opoku-Agyemang said the government is focused on attracting investors who will produce and manufacture in the country.

She described Ghana’s youthful population as a key asset and called for partnerships that will help create jobs.

Prof Opoku-Agyemang praised South Korea’s achievements in areas such as fisheries training and research and said Ghana is eager to learn and collaborate in manufacturing and agribusiness.
