Thirteen new cases of Mpox have been confirmed, according to the Ghana Health Service (GHS).

In its latest Mpox update released on Tuesday, February 3, GHS indicated the total confirmed cases now stand at 993 as of January 25, 2026.

No new deaths have been recorded, leaving the cumulative death toll at seven.

GHS also indicated that there are currently no patients on admission, suggesting that active cases are either being managed at home or have recovered.

Mpox is spread mainly through close physical contact with an infected person. This includes direct contact with skin lesions, bodily fluids, or respiratory droplets during prolonged face-to-face contact, or contact with contaminated materials such as clothing and bedding. Health officials have therefore continued to stress the importance of personal hygiene, early reporting of symptoms, and avoiding close contact with suspected or confirmed cases.

The Ghana Health Service has reiterated its call on the public to remain vigilant and to promptly seek medical attention at the nearest health facility if they experience symptoms such as fever, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, and skin rashes or lesions. Early detection, the Service says, remains critical in preventing further transmission.
