While the several hundreds of delegates across Ghana walked into their polling stations with ease on Saturday, January 31, 2026, Frank Nti’s journey to vote was anything but ordinary.

At the Roman Catholic School Voting Centre in the Assin South Constituency, the 37-year-old physically-challenged polling station secretary made a choice that stunned everyone present.

NPP Primaries: Here are the seven prophets who predicted win for Bawumia

Faced with rough, dusty terrain and no easy access, Nti lowered himself to the ground and crawled nearly 30 metres on his knees and palms just to reach the ballot box.

As gravel scraped his skin and the morning sun bore down, the entire centre fell silent.

Delegates watched in disbelief and admiration as he pressed on, determined not to let his physical condition deny him his democratic right.

According to a GNA report, some whispered in shock, others considered helping him, but his focused resolve made it clear this was a journey he wanted to complete himself.

A father of three and a lotto forecaster by profession, Nti turned a moment that could have drawn pity into a powerful lesson in civic duty.

“I’m a human being like any other, so I won’t let my physical challenge let me down,” he later told the Ghana News Agency.

When he finally arrived, support met him, the report added.

He praised the police for assisting him across difficult areas and commended the Electoral Commission for ensuring he voted comfortably and in secrecy by providing him a chair.

But for Frank Nti, the crawl meant more than casting a ballot. It was a message; a call for persons with disabilities to step into Ghana’s political space and fight for their voices.

Though he kept his choice private, his commitment to the NPP was unwavering.

“I’ll work with whoever wins,” he said, standing firm without ever needing to stand.
