Residents of the Gamenu Electoral Area may soon find relief as the long-neglected Gamenu-Hawui Adidokpo road has finally come under official inspection. On Friday, Hon. Seyram Glah, the Assemblymember for the area, led a team of municipal experts to assess the deteriorating condition of the road, which has for decades disrupted daily life, slowed business activities, and created hardship for travelers and locals alike.

The inspection team included key officials from the South Tongu Municipal Road Engineering Department, headed by Engineer Valentine Adraku, alongside the Municipal DRIP Coordinator, Mr. George Adziah. Their mission was to conduct feasibility studies and gather firsthand information that would guide the most effective approach to rehabilitating the road. This exercise was not just technical but also symbolic, signaling a renewed commitment to addressing one of the community’s most pressing infrastructural challenges.

As part of the visit, the engineers held a constructive dialogue with local Elders and community leaders. The discussions centered on how the Municipal Assembly and the people of Gamenu could collaborate to ensure the project’s success. Both sides emphasized that lasting solutions would depend on teamwork, transparency, and shared responsibility.

The engineering team urged residents to prepare for active participation once construction begins, stressing that community involvement is vital for smooth progress. They explained that local support—whether through cooperation, monitoring, or encouragement—would help prevent delays and ensure the road is completed to a high standard.

Hon. Seyram Glah, visibly moved by the development, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the South Tongu Municipal Assembly for responding to the community’s long-standing appeals. He commended the officials for their dedication and reassured residents that this inspection marks the beginning of a new chapter. According to him, once the road is rehabilitated, the area will experience a boost in social and economic activities, opening doors for trade, mobility, and improved livelihoods.
