Popular Actress Is Dead

Hollywood actress, Catherine O’Hara, popularly known for her roles in ‘Home Alone’ and ‘Schitt’s Creek’, has died at the age of 71.

Naija News learnt that O’Hara’s agency, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), confirmed her demise in a statement on Friday.

According to the statement, the thespian died at her home in Los Angeles’ Brentwood area, but the cause of death was not disclosed.

O’Hara, a Canadian native, began her career in improvisational comedy and enjoyed a decades-long career spanning film, television and stage.

She rose to global prominence as the frantic but devoted mother of Macaulay Culkin’s character in the first two Home Alone films.

She later earned critical acclaim and a new generation of fans for her portrayal of Moira Rose in the Emmy-winning comedy series Schitt’s Creek, a role she played across 80 episodes.

Her film credits include Best in Show (2000), A Mighty Wind (2003), Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and several other projects that established her as one of comedy’s most distinctive performers.

O’Hara is survived by her family and leaves behind a lasting legacy in comedy and popular culture.

In other news, Bobby Williams Adeoye, the son of late gospel singer Omije Ojumi, has shared his thoughts on his mother’s death.

Williams said he was not completely shocked by the news because she often talked about death while she was alive.

He spoke during the service of songs held in her honour, where he remembered her as a woman who gave her whole life to raising him and making sure he succeeded in everything he did.

He described her as caring, kind and very strong, saying she always pushed him to do well both at home and in school.

According to him, his mother took a deep interest in his daily life and always wanted to know how his day went whenever he returned from school.
