The Office of the Deputy Minister of Education, Dr Clement Abas Apaak, has dismissed claims circulating on social media regarding his working relationship with the substantive Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu.

The clarification comes after a video by Kelvin Taylor of the “With All Due Respect” programme suggested tensions between the two officials.

But in a statement dated Friday, January 30, 2026, and signed by Samson Samari, Personal Assistant to the Deputy Minister, he stated that the claims in the video are misleading and do not reflect the actual situation within the ministry.

“It has come to the attention of the Office of the Deputy Minister of Education, Hon Dr Clement Apaak, that a video is circulating on social media featuring commentary by Kelvin Taylor of ‘With All Due Respect’ Programme regarding the working relationship between the Deputy Minister and the substantive Minister for Education, Hon Haruna Iddrisu,” portions of the statement shared on Facebook read.

It continued, “We wish to state unequivocally that the comments made in the video do not represent the views, sentiments, or experiences of the Deputy Minister. Hon Dr Clement Apaak fully dissociates himself from the claims made by Kelvin Taylor in the video.”

The statement went on to address specific allegations made in the video, describing them as inaccurate and unfounded.

It emphasised that at no point has the deputy minister raised concerns about his responsibilities or treatment within the ministry.

“Hon Dr Clement Apaak has never expressed, privately or publicly, any grievance regarding his role or the delegation of duties within the Ministry,” it indicated.

It further highlighted the working environment under the leadership of the substantive minister, stressing that collaboration and inclusion remain central to the ministry’s operations.

“Contrary to the suggestions in the video, the Minister, Hon Haruna Iddrisu, has consistently provided a collaborative and inclusive environment,” the statement added.

According to the Office of the Deputy Minister, Dr Apaak continues to play a key role in the ministry’s work and is actively involved in high-level engagements on behalf of the Ministry of Education.

“The Deputy Minister remains one of the most empowered and privileged deputies, frequently representing the Ministry at high-level functions and decision-making forums,” the statement added.

The statement also underscored the deputy minister’s respect for the leadership of Haruna Iddrisu and their shared commitment to Ghana’s education sector.

The office further urged the public to disregard what it described as misinformation being spread through the video, warning that such commentary could mislead the public and undermine confidence in the work of the ministry.

“The Deputy Minister maintains the highest level of respect for the Minister’s leadership and remains committed to their shared goal of advancing the nation’s educational agenda. We urge the public to disregard the misinformation contained in the video. Such commentary is speculative and does not reflect the professional synergy currently driving the Ministry of Education,” it added.

The statement reaffirmed the ministry’s focus on unity, cooperation and the successful implementation of policies aimed at improving education delivery across the country.
