Today’s Headlines: Fubara to Tinubu: You stood with us in difficult times; we’ll stand with you; Aregbesola Appeals Court Judgment

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has pledged the state’s support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, saying the people are ready to reciprocate the President’s support during their challenging moments.

Fubara said Rivers State had not forgotten Tinubu’s intervention and support during the political crisis that rocked the state, assuring him of their backing as he seeks a renewed mandate.

The governor disclosed this in a statement posted on his X platform on Saturday after welcoming Tinubu to Rivers State for the All Progressives Congress (APC) South-South presidential campaign rally.

He expressed appreciation to the President for his intervention and commitment to restoring peace, stability and development in the state.

Rauf Aregbesola, National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has appealed the Federal High Court judgment nullifying the emergence of the David Mark-led leadership of the party.

In a notice of appeal filed on Friday through his lawyer, Mohammed Sheriff, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Aregbesola asked the Court of Appeal to set aside the judgment delivered by Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on the grounds that the court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the suit.

Aregbesola listed Nafiu Gombe, the ADC, Mark, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Ralph Nwosu as the first to fifth respondents, respectively.

He urged the appellate court to overturn the lower court’s decision to assume jurisdiction over claims concerning his emergence as national secretary and the validity of resolutions reached at the party’s 99th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

Nigerian employers can leverage artificial intelligence and workforce analytics to tackle rising staff turnover and curb the migration of skilled professionals, a People Analytics expert, Kemisola Kasali, has said.

Kasali said AI-powered workforce management systems could help organisations identify early signs of employee dissatisfaction, predict potential resignations and address workplace concerns before workers decide to leave.

She noted that many employers often recognise signs of employee disengagement too late, when affected workers have already made up their minds to resign.

Kasali made this known in a research paper titled, “Human-AI Collaboration for Talent Retention and Workforce Stability in Nigeria”, presented at the third International Academic Conference of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, according to a statement issued on Sunday.

Messan announced his confirmation, describing the appointment as a significant milestone in his professional journey and an opportunity to contribute to the development of a Greater Lagos and Nigeria.

The appointment brings his experience in entrepreneurship, venture building, business strategy, entertainment and creative development into public service, with expectations that his private-sector background will support the state’s tourism and creative economy agenda.
