Sad News for Rigathi Gachagua as Elder Sister Eunice Nyangari Dies at 77

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is mourning the death of his elder sister, Eunice Nyangari Gachagua, in a family loss that has left relatives and loved ones heartbroken.

Eunice passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at the age of 77 in Naro Moru. Her death was announced by Gachagua through a family statement released on Friday, November 6.

In the emotional announcement, the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader revealed that the family was grieving the loss of their firstborn sister.

He described Eunice as a special person who played an important role in keeping the family together, particularly after the death of their mother seven years ago.

According to Gachagua, his late sister had taken up a motherly responsibility, offering direction, care and encouragement to her younger siblings during difficult moments.

Her passing has therefore created a huge gap in the family, considering the important position she held among her brothers and sisters.

The former Deputy President also shared his condolences with Eunice’s immediate family, including her daughter Waithera, son Murimi, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.

He remembered her as a cheerful and loving person whose presence brought happiness to those around her.

Gachagua further expressed gratitude for the 77 years his sister lived, acknowledging the memories and support she had given the family throughout her lifetime.

The announcement has brought attention to the personal side of the DCP leader, who is widely known for his involvement in Kenya’s political affairs.

As the family comes to terms with the painful loss, messages of sympathy are expected from friends, supporters and Kenyans.

Eunice’s death marks another difficult moment for the Gachagua family as they prepare to bid farewell to a woman who played a significant role in their lives.
