Fresh Headache To Gov Orengo As Kalonzo Reveals Founders Of LDP

Fresh headache has hit Siaya Governor James Orengo after Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka revealed the real founders of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).

Speaking on Friday, 6th November 2026, and the debate still raging today, Saturday 7th November 2026, Kalonzo dropped a bombshell that has left many Kenyans talking.

“Baba and I founded LDP, which is now James Orengo’s party,” Kalonzo said.

Kalonzo was reminding Kenyans that LDP is not a new party, and it is not Orengo’s personal property. He said he and the late Raila Odinga, fondly known as Baba, are the ones who founded the party many years ago during the fight for democracy.

His statement came just hours after Orengo declared that he will use LDP to rally the entire nation and build a united opposition to reclaim Kenya’s future in 2027.

Supporters of Kalonzo celebrated his revelation, saying he has exposed the truth and reminded Orengo that he cannot claim ownership of a party that was founded by Baba and Kalonzo.

“Kalonzo is right. Orengo should respect the founders. LDP belongs to the struggle, not to one man,” one supporter said.

Others said Kalonzo’s statement proves that he is the true heir of Baba, and that Orengo should work with Kalonzo instead of competing with him.

Critics of Kalonzo, however, attacked him, saying he is just trying to claim credit for everything Baba did. They said Kalonzo left LDP long ago and has no right to claim it now.

“Kalonzo is a fossil. He keeps talking about history while young people want jobs,” one critic said.

Supporters of Orengo also hit back, saying Orengo revived LDP when everyone had forgotten it, and that he is now the right man to lead it into 2027.

Despite the war of words, one thing is clear — the battle for LDP has now started. Will Orengo keep the party, or will Kalonzo claim it as his own creation with Baba?
