Ajibade shared her message on X on Saturday, November 7, following the Flamingos’ 2–1 victory over Japan in the final in Rabat, Morocco. The result made Nigeria the first African nation to win the tournament.

You made history, and you made all of Nigeria proud.

Congratulations Flamingos 🇳🇬🦅,” Ajibade wrote.

The Super Falcons forward’s post celebrated the young players’ achievement and highlighted the significance of their title for Nigerian football. The Flamingos’ win marked a first for Africa at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Nigeria secured the trophy after a closely contested final against Japan. The victory capped the team’s campaign in Morocco and brought national attention to the players’ performances throughout the tournament.

Her public message of support connected the Flamingos’ success with the wider Nigerian women’s game, from the youth team to the Super Falcons.

The win over Japan adds a new milestone to Nigeria’s record in women’s football and offers encouragement to the next generation of players.

Ajibade’s words echoed the celebrations among supporters after the final, with her post describing the champions as evidence that “The future of Nigerian football is here.”

The Flamingos’ achievement is historic not only because of the result but also because no African team had previously won the competition.
