“We Won’t Take This Anymore” – Peter Obi Breaks Silence After Attack on NDC Supporters in Delta
According to a report by Daily Post on Sunday November 08, 2026, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has condemned an attack on party members, coordinators and supporters of the Obidient Movement in Delta State, warning that such incidents would no longer be tolerated.
Obi expressed his anger over the reported violence in a statement published on his verified X account, describing the incident as deeply disturbing and calling for an end to attacks against people exercising their democratic rights.
He said he was profoundly saddened by reports that his coordinators, supporters and other citizens had been targeted, insisting that political disagreements should never lead to violence.
“I unequivocally condemn the attacks against our coordinators, supporters, and fellow citizens who were merely exercising their democratic rights. We won’t take this anymore,” Obi stated.
The former Anambra State governor maintained that intimidation and physical attacks have no place in a democratic society, stressing that political violence cannot be justified under any circumstances.
He also questioned the use of thuggery and fear as tools for gaining political influence, particularly at a time when the country needs responsible leadership and a peaceful political environment.
According to Obi, it is troubling that some individuals continue to resort to violence to advance political interests rather than engage in democratic participation and debate.
He subsequently called on the government and security agencies to launch an immediate and comprehensive investigation into the incident.
Obi urged authorities to identify and prosecute everyone involved, regardless of their political affiliations, stressing the need to ensure accountability and protect citizens’ democratic rights ahead of the 2027 general elections.
