Jacinta Ngobese Takes Another Swipe At Malema Over Election Rankings

March and March leader Jacinta Ngobese has taken a swipe at Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema following the release of election figures placing ActionSA among South Africa’s five leading political parties.

Ngobese reacted to the figures in a post on X, where she quoted the report and wrote: “Well Ofcos it does… the circus master is just in pain”

Her comment appeared to be directed at Malema, whom she referred to as the “circus master” in a mocking remark. The response came after a discussion surrounding the position of ActionSA in the national political rankings following the 2026 Local Government Elections.

The figures showed ActionSA recording 5.67% of the vote and securing 313 seats, placing it fifth among the five parties listed. The ANC topped the ranking with 30.76% support and 3,246 seats, followed by the DA with 24.64% and 1,695 seats.

The uMkhonto weSizwe Party came third with 9.76% and 785 seats, while the EFF occupied fourth position with 6.22% support and 588 seats.

Ngobese’s reaction followed comments attributed to Malema during an EFF briefing on Saturday, in which he reportedly described ActionSA as one of South Africa’s top five political parties.

The latest figures therefore placed ActionSA within the top five, although the party remained behind the EFF in both vote percentage and seats secured.

By describing Malema as a “circus master” and suggesting that he was unhappy with the figures, Ngobese turned the election ranking discussion into another public exchange involving prominent political figures.

Her post was a sarcastic response rather than a detailed explanation of the election statistics. It also added a personal dimension to the debate over how the different parties performed in the 2026 local government polls.

Neither a response from Malema nor a further explanation from Ngobese was included in the information available at the time of writing.
