Baba Ijesha Reopens Child Abuse Case, Claims He Was Framed

According to daily Post, Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has reopened discussions surrounding his child sexual abuse case, insisting that he was framed by people who allegedly conspired against him.

The actor made the fresh allegations during an interview with Agbaletu Uncensored, where he maintained his innocence and rejected the description of him as a paedophile.

Baba Ijesha said he did not understand the meaning of the word until he was taken to prison following the allegations against him.

According to him, the accusations were based on lies and an alleged conspiracy involving people who wanted to destroy his reputation.

“I am not a paedophile, I don’t even know what it means until I was in prison,” he said during the interview.

The actor also questioned the circumstances surrounding the video footage that became a major part of the controversy. He claimed that he had never visited the house where he was allegedly captured on camera.

“The house where I was caught on camera, I have never been there before,” he stated.

Baba Ijesha further recalled his reaction after being accused of using a key to deflower a seven-year-old girl.

He said he challenged those making the allegation while he was in prison, referring to the fact that he also has a daughter.

“They said I used a key to deflower a seven-year-old. I told them I also have a girl child; when is time they should do likewise to her if I truly did it. I laid that curse,” he said.

The actor also disclosed that someone had allegedly warned him about the incident before it happened. However, he claimed that he only remembered the person’s name after the controversy began.

His latest comments have brought renewed attention to a case that generated widespread reactions across Nigeria’s entertainment industry and beyond.

The allegations against Baba Ijesha previously attracted considerable public attention, particularly because the case involved a minor and raised serious concerns about child protection and the safety of young people.

His latest interview, however, presents his personal account of the events, with the actor insisting that he was unfairly treated.

It is important to distinguish his current claims from the legal history of the case. His assertion that he was framed does not, by itself, overturn any court judgment or establish that the allegations were false.

The interview has once again placed the actor’s controversial case in the public conversation, as his statements continue to attract attention.
