She Was Married When I Met Her, I Encouraged Her To Leave Her Husband And Move In With Me- Adebisi
According to a report by Daily Post on Saturday, November 7, 2026, a man identified as Adebisi has approached the Grade A Customary Court sitting in Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State, seeking the dissolution of his marriage to his wife, Sadia, over alleged lack of love, frequent disagreements and constant fighting.
Adebisi told the court that he met Sadia in 2004 and began a relationship with her, despite knowing that she was already married to another man at the time.
According to him, he persuaded Sadia to leave her former husband, after which she moved in with him. However, he disclosed that he did not pay her bride price before they started living together.
The plaintiff further alleged that although they had lived together for several years, Sadia failed to give him a child, thereby denying him the opportunity to experience fatherhood.
He also accused his wife of making their relationship unbearable through frequent quarrels and physical confrontations, claiming that she fought him almost all the time despite his patience.
Adebisi maintained that he had lost interest in the marriage and no longer had feelings for the defendant.
He consequently asked the court to grant his request for divorce so that both parties could go their separate ways.
However, Sadia opposed the dissolution of their marriage, insisting that she was not barren, contrary to her husband’s allegations.
The defendant explained that she had once become pregnant but unfortunately suffered a miscarriage. She also accused Adebisi of introducing her to different fetish practices against her wishes before eventually abandoning her.
Sadia’s position suggested that she was unwilling to accept the end of their relationship, despite the plaintiff’s insistence that the marriage had broken down irretrievably.
While presenting his testimony before the court, Adebisi recounted how their relationship started and how he convinced Sadia to leave her former marriage.
He said, “I met my wife in 2004 and we started dating.
“She was already married and living with her husband when we met.
“I encouraged her to leave her husband and she did.
“She then moved in with me, although I did not pay her bride price.”
The plaintiff maintained that the marriage had become unbearable and urged the court to grant his request for dissolution.
