Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah Expresses Interest in Representing Asante Agona as MP

According to a report by Onua TV on November 7, 2026, Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah, a media practitioner and Oyokohene of Asante Agona, has indicated his willingness to serve as Member of Parliament for the Asante Agona constituency should the people call on him to do so.

Speaking during an exclusive interview on the station’s current affairs programme, Mr. Afrifa-Mensah said he would readily accept the responsibility if the market women and residents of Asante Agona asked him to represent them in Parliament.

“If the market women and the people of Asante Agona want me to represent them in Parliament as MP, I will hurriedly do it,” he stated.

His remarks come at a time when conversations about political representation and community leadership continue to gain attention across the country. By tying his possible candidacy to the wishes of the people, particularly the market women, who form a vital part of local commerce and community life, Mr. Afrifa-Mensah signalled that any decision to enter parliamentary politics would be driven by public demand rather than personal ambition alone.
