Tears To Hope: Ghanaian Celebrities Rally Behind Orphaned Graduate
According to a report by Ghbase News on Saturday November 7, 2026, Ghanaian celebrities, including popular musicians Kweku Smoke, YPee and Mr Drew, as well as actress Fella Makafui, have extended support to a young dressmaker whose heartbreaking graduation story has sparked widespread sympathy on social media.
The celebrities have joined several other compassionate Ghanaians in reaching out to the young woman after she shared an emotional account of losing her mother before completing her dressmaking training.
The young graduate attracted public attention after posting a tearful video on TikTok in which she recounted the painful circumstances surrounding her mother’s death.
According to her, her mother had repeatedly expressed fears that she might not live long enough to witness her daughter’s graduation.
Sadly, the mother’s fears became reality when she passed away before the young woman could complete her training and celebrate the milestone with her.
Despite the painful loss, the young dressmaker successfully completed her training and returned to her village with graduation envelopes, hoping to share the achievement with her family and loved ones.
However, the homecoming was far from the joyful occasion she had anticipated. The absence of her mother, who had looked forward to seeing her graduate, made the moment particularly heartbreaking.
She could not share the achievement with the woman whose encouragement and presence she had hoped to have on such an important day.
Her emotional story quickly gained attention online, with many social media users expressing their condolences and offering assistance to help ease her pain.
Among the notable personalities who responded was actress Fella Makafui, who publicly asked the young woman to provide her mobile money details so she could extend financial support.
“Please drop your momo number,” Fella Makafui wrote in the comment section of the viral video.
Rapper Kweku Smoke also reacted to the emotional story, offering words of encouragement while expressing his desire to receive one of the graduate’s envelopes.
“Bebiaa be fine Ohemaa. Send me my envelope,” he commented, suggesting his willingness to celebrate her achievement despite the unfortunate circumstances surrounding her graduation.
Musician YPee equally sympathised with the young woman and requested her mobile money details, writing: “So sorry, what’s your momo?”
Mr Drew and several other Ghanaians have also joined the growing number of people expressing solidarity with the young graduate.
The overwhelming response has turned the young woman’s painful experience into an opportunity for kindness, with celebrities and ordinary social media users demonstrating their willingness to support someone going through a difficult moment.
Although her graduation celebration came with the painful absence of her mother, the support she has received from prominent Ghanaian entertainers and members of the public has brought her story renewed attention and encouragement.
The development has also highlighted the importance of celebrating personal achievements while extending compassion to people dealing with grief and difficult circumstances.
