Efya’s Old Interview Resurfaces After Ghanaian Singer Marries Nigerian Musician Tomi Thomas

An old interview of Ghanaian singer Efya has resurfaced on social media following her traditional wedding to Nigerian musician Tomi Thomas on November 6, 2026.

The interview, which was conducted by Adom TV in 2020, has attracted renewed attention because of comments Efya made about marriage during the conversation. At the time, the award-winning singer reportedly stated that she would never get married, a position that has now become a major talking point following news of her wedding.

Efya, who is 39 years old, has traditionally married Nigerian musician Tomi Thomas, who is 33, making her six years older than her husband.

News of their marriage has generated considerable reactions across social media, with fans and entertainment followers revisiting the singer’s previous statements and questioning what might have changed her perspective over the years.

Many netizens have expressed surprise at the development, particularly because of how firmly she appeared to rule out marriage during her 2020 interview.

Others have used the opportunity to discuss how people’s views about relationships and marriage can change as they grow older and experience different stages of life.

The resurfaced interview has also placed Efya’s personal life at the centre of online conversations, with many people curious about the journey that eventually led her to embrace marriage.

However, the singer has not publicly provided a detailed explanation of what influenced her decision to marry or whether her earlier comments reflected her permanent position on relationships at the time.

Her traditional wedding to Tomi Thomas marks a significant new chapter in her personal life, while the resurfaced interview continues to fuel conversations among her fans and social media users.

For now, many are celebrating the couple as they begin their married life together.
