Edwin Sifuna’s 2027 Presidential Bid Receives Major Endorsement Ahead Of Election, Details

Prominent ODM politician Saitabao Ole Kanchory has endorsed Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna’s bid for the presidency in the 2027 General Election, urging Kenyans to unite behind his candidature.

Kanchory announced his support on Thursday, November 5, through a post on X, saying he had listened to the people’s wishes and believed Sifuna was the preferred candidate.

“Fellow Kenyans, I’ve heard you loud and clear. The voice of the people is the voice of God. The people cannot be wrong. Sifuna IT IS. So let’s all rally behind him and give him all the support he needs,” he stated.

The endorsement is significant given Kanchory’s close association with the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. He served as Raila’s chief presidential agent during the 2022 General Election, when the former prime minister contested under the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition.

His backing is viewed as a boost to Sifuna’s growing presidential ambitions as he seeks support beyond his traditional political base.

Meanwhile, the Linda Mwananchi Movement (LMM) emerged as the leading force in an online poll conducted by Politrack Africa News, securing 84.8 per cent of the 15,660 votes cast.

The movement defeated DCP, UDA and ODM, which garnered 7.1, 4.9 and 3.2 per cent respectively, signalling growing interest in the emerging political outfit ahead of the 2027 elections.
