uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK) Party president Jacob Zuma is considering political alliances to secure a majority in KwaZulu-Natal.
The party has secured more than 1.7 million votes so far, with the count still underway.
They’re also leading in the financial hub of eThekwini, where they’ve seemingly secured several outlying wards.
While the DA is seemingly holding fort along the coast, outlying wards of the city, where the ANC previously held a majority, are now being overtaken by the MK Party.

This includes Ward 53 in Amaoti, home to crime-accused former Durban mayor Zandile Gumede, who crossed to the MK Party from the ANC this year.
The party has secured 21 seats in the council so far, with the majority in at least six wards, although counting is still underway.
But Zuma, who was in the Durban High Court to support his daughter, Duduzile, is after leadership positions.
“We are open. That is what we do because we want to rule the country, and we want the country to be worked on properly by the citizens who feel that this country needs to be what we all want it to be.
Meanwhile, the IEC in KZN has confirmed it’s authorised the recount of votes in some regions of eThekwini, further delaying the results announcement.
