Deputy Energy Minister urges GNPC Explorco to prepare for drilling campaign

Share on Twitter Deputy Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Richard Gyan-Mensah, has urged the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation Exploration and Production Company (GNPC Explorco) to intensify preparations for its planned drilling campaign expected to commence this quarter.

Mr Gyan-Mensah made the call while representing the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, at GNPC Explorco’s inaugural Annual General Meeting (AGM).

He said the call aligned with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision to expand petroleum exploration, unlock Ghana’s hydrocarbon potential and strengthen national energy security.

The Deputy Minister also congratulated the company’s Board, Management and staff for their contributions to Ghana’s petroleum industry, particularly their work on the Jubilee and Tweneboa, Enyenra and Ntomme (TEN) fields.

Mr Gyan-Mensah reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting GNPC Explorco as it develops the technical and operational capacity to become a leading indigenous petroleum exploration and production company.

He said strengthening the company’s capabilities would contribute to Ghana’s efforts to expand exploration activities and maximise the benefits of its petroleum resources.

The inaugural AGM provided an opportunity to recognise the contributions of the company’s leadership and workforce while focusing on preparations for its next phase of operations.
