Aisha Yesufu Reacts As 2023 Video Of MC Oluomo Threatening Non-APC Members Not To Vote Resurfaces

Political activist Aisha Yesufu has reacted after a 2023 video showing the then Chairman of the Lagos State Parks and Garages Management Committee, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, allegedly threatening voters who would not support the All Progressives Congress (APC) resurfaced on social media.

The footage, which has renewed conversations about electoral intimidation ahead of the 2027 general election, was described by social media users as showing MC Oluomo warning voters, particularly those he associated with the Igbo community, against coming out to vote if they did not intend to support the ruling party.

In the video shared by Ogun Watch, MC Oluomo was heard saying, “If you no won vote for us, sit down for house.”

Reacting to the resurfaced footage, Yesufu declared that Nigerians would no longer limit their response to electoral intimidation to carrying placards, insisting that citizens had a right to defend themselves and their votes.

“This time we will fight back! Self-defense is both a fundamental legal right and a natural human right!

“Anyone that refuses to allow our votes to count, will be counted!!!

“2027 Election is War! We are fighting for our lives and the soul of Nigeria,” she wrote.

Another X user, MsBaryatKabtis, also shared the video, alleging that MC Oluomo had threatened voters, particularly those he reportedly referred to as “Iya Chukwudi,” during the 2023 election period.

The user warned that anyone planning to manipulate or steal votes in 2027 should reconsider, adding a threatening message directed at those who might attempt to rig the election.

The resurfacing of the footage and the reactions it has generated have brought renewed attention to concerns about voter intimidation, political violence and the safety of citizens during elections.

The development comes amid heightened political exchanges ahead of the 2027 polls, with opposition figures and activists increasingly speaking out against alleged attempts to influence voters through threats or coercion.

However, the resurfaced video and the claims surrounding it have not independently established whether similar threats are being planned for the 2027 election.
