Prof. Manyora Alleges Why Kalonzo Musyoka is Showing Clear Signs of Moving to Ruto’s Camp (VIDEO)

Political analyst Professor Herman Manyora has triggered fresh political debate after sharing his interpretation of Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s political direction as the country gradually prepares for the 2027 General Election.

Kalonzo has increasingly attracted attention amid ongoing discussions about opposition unity, coalition arrangements and the possibility of new political partnerships ahead of the next presidential contest.

Manyora’s observations come at a time when President William Ruto’s administration and opposition leaders are navigating a politically sensitive period characterised by negotiations, competing interests and disagreements over the future of Kenya’s political alliances.

The Wiper leader has maintained a prominent position within the opposition, where several politicians have been exploring ways of building a united political front against the Kenya Kwanza administration.

However, his political approach has also attracted scrutiny, particularly following remarks suggesting that cooperation with Ruto could be considered under certain circumstances.

On September 27, Kalonzo made remarks in Bondo, Siaya County, indicating that the opposition could consider working with Ruto if the 2027 elections were conducted freely and fairly. His comments generated debate about whether he was leaving room for possible political cooperation after the elections.

His relationship with other opposition figures has also become a subject of discussion, especially amid disagreements over coalition leadership and the question of who should represent the opposition in the presidential contest.

The situation has been further complicated by developments surrounding the Linda Mwananchi Movement, where questions about Kalonzo’s relationship with sections of the movement have attracted public attention.

Meanwhile, Kalonzo has continued engaging other opposition leaders, including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Their October 26 meeting at Gachagua’s Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri demonstrated that consultations within the opposition were still ongoing.

However, Kalonzo recently dismissed speculation that he was preparing to join Ruto’s government.

Speaking on November 1 during a church service at AIC Kyemutheke in Machakos County, he maintained that he had no intention of joining the administration and reiterated his readiness to challenge Ruto in the 2027 elections.

Consequently, Manyora’s interpretation has added another dimension to the debate surrounding Kalonzo’s political calculations.

Whether the Wiper leader will maintain his opposition position or consider a different political arrangement remains a matter of considerable public interest as Kenya approaches the 2027 elections.
