Key suspect in the Sakumono murder case Samuel Christopher Osei Anto in police grip, he was picked from a hideout Tikrom near Ejisu

The key suspect in the Sakumono murder case, Samuel Christopher Osei Anto who was on the run has been arrested from his hideout at Tikrom near Ejisu in the Ashanti Region.

A 47-year-old woman was earlier arrested by the police in connection with the killing of the two people at the NTHC Estate at Sakumono, in Greater Accra last week.

The woman, Beatrice Mumuni, is alleged to have led the principal suspect, Samuel Christopher Osei Anto, to the residence of the victims, George Atubiga, 57, and his niece, Irene Atubiga, 47, before they were shot dead on Friday, October 30, 2026.

Police preliminary investigations suggests that the killings might have resulted from a financial dispute between Osei Anto and George Atubiga.

According to the police, George Atubiga had allegedly borrowed GHยข500,000 from the suspect but failed to repay the money.

Osei Anto reportedly visited the victims’ residence on the morning of the incident, accompanied by Mumuni, to demand repayment.

A misunderstanding allegedly ensued, during which Osei Anto reportedly shot and killed the two victims.
