Ghanaian Children and Schoolmates Demand Justice for Javits Frimpong After Fatal Bronx Shooting

Schoolmates, Ghanaian children and other members of the African community in the United States have continued to demand justice for Javits Frimpong, who was fatally shot while walking to school in the Bronx, New York.

The tragic incident has sparked calls for justice from those who knew the young boy, as well as members of the wider Ghanaian and African communities who want answers over his death.

Those speaking out have also used the moment to draw attention to the problem of bullying in schools, insisting that no child should have to attend school in an environment where they feel threatened, intimidated or unsafe.

They are calling on schools to take bullying seriously and ensure that every student is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their background.

For Frimpong’s schoolmates, the demand for justice is accompanied by a broader appeal for schools to become places where children can learn, develop friendships and pursue their dreams without fear.

The campaign has also highlighted the concerns of African families in the United States over the safety and wellbeing of their children, particularly as they navigate school environments away from their countries of origin.

Those demanding justice believe that addressing bullying should be a priority for school authorities, parents and communities. They want institutions to create systems that allow students to report intimidation and receive the necessary protection and support.

Beyond the circumstances surrounding Frimpong’s death, the calls have placed renewed focus on the responsibility of schools to provide safe and welcoming environments for all children.

The young boy’s death has therefore become a rallying point for those seeking accountability and stronger action against bullying.

As the community continues to demand justice, their message remains that every child deserves to feel protected, respected and safe while pursuing an education.
