“We Can’t Kill Our Pregnant Cow That Will Deliver in 2032” – Tharaka MP’s Wife Defends Ruto’s Tutam

Angelica Gatiiria, wife to Tharaka Member of Parliament Gitonga Murugara, has defended President William Ruto’s re-election bid in 2027 using a unique analogy that has sparked debate online.

Speaking during a public gathering, Gatiiria said it would be unwise for Kenya Kwanza supporters to abandon President Ruto before he completes his development agenda, comparing his administration to a pregnant cow expected to deliver in 2032.

“We can’t kill our pregnant cow that will deliver in 2032,” she said while rallying residents to support President Ruto’s second term in office.

According to Gatiiria, President Ruto needs more time to fully implement his Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda and deliver on the promises he made to Kenyans during the 2022 campaigns.

She argued that the President has already initiated several development projects across the country and that cutting his leadership short would deny Kenyans the full benefits of his administration’s plans.

Gatiiria urged residents of Tharaka Nithi and the larger Mt. Kenya East region to remain united behind President Ruto and give him a second term to complete what he started.

Her remarks come at a time when political temperatures are rising ahead of the 2027 General Election, with leaders from both government and opposition camps intensifying their campaigns across the country.

The statement has elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans on social media, with some supporting her sentiments while others questioned the comparison and the push for an extended stay in power beyond 2027.

Supporters of the President say his administration needs continuity to achieve long-term economic transformation, while critics argue that Kenyans should be given an opportunity to assess his first two terms before discussing the 2032 election.

President Ruto has previously stated that his focus is not on re-election but on transforming the country through difficult but necessary decisions. However, his allies have continued to campaign for his second term under the Tutam slogan.

Tharaka MP Gitonga Murugara is a close ally of President Ruto and has been vocal in defending the Kenya Kwanza administration’s development record in his constituency.
