Sifuna Unveils Major Plan to Take Linda Mwananchi to All 47 Counties Ahead of 2027 Elections

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has unveiled an ambitious plan to expand the Linda Mwananchi Movement across all 47 counties as political preparations for the 2027 General Election gather momentum.

The movement is now shifting its attention towards building strong grassroots networks, recruiting members and establishing local offices to strengthen its nationwide presence.

Sifuna announced the plans during a mobilisation tour in Kwale County on Saturday, October 31, where he met local political aspirants and supporters. The visit came a day after the movement officially rebranded The Equitable Party into the Linda Mwananchi Movement Party.

The Nairobi Senator said the outfit was determined to establish offices in every county by the end of November. He also revealed that the movement already had representatives from 38 counties, giving it a foundation for its nationwide expansion.

Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi emphasised the importance of recruiting members and registering supporters online as the movement works towards strengthening its grassroots structures.

Sifuna maintained that the organisation would champion constitutionalism, accountability and protection of citizens’ rights. He also challenged the government to ensure transparency in major national projects and respect public participation in decisions involving public resources.

The movement’s leaders have also announced plans to hold a National Delegates Convention on November 13 to formalise its leadership structure and strengthen its political organisation.

The nationwide expansion comes as Sifuna’s political ambitions attract growing attention, with supporters increasingly positioning him as a possible opposition presidential candidate in 2027.

However, building a presence in every county will require more than public rallies. The movement will need strong local leadership, credible candidates and sustained support to compete effectively.

With the next General Election approaching, Linda Mwananchi’s ability to turn its growing popularity into an organised national political force could shape its chances in the coming electoral contest.
