Mahama’s Brother Dragged Into Nawara Mining Licence Scandal – Management Breaks Silence
According to a report by GHOne TV, on Sunday November 1, 2026, Management has strongly dismissed allegations linking President John Dramani Mahama’s brother, Alfred Mahama, to the revocation of Nawara Mining’s operating licence, insisting that he played no role in the decision and has no ownership interest in the companies reportedly associated with the matter.
In a statement addressing the growing controversy, management clarified that Alfred Mahama was neither involved in the process that led to the revocation of Nawara Mining’s licence nor connected to the corporate interests of CMS-PRO and A&A Southern Industries Ltd.
The clarification appears aimed at addressing public speculation and claims suggesting that the President’s brother may have influenced the regulatory decision or benefited from developments surrounding the mining company.
Management maintained that Alfred Mahama does not hold shares in either CMS-PRO or A&A Southern Industries Ltd, stressing that attempts to associate him with the two companies are unfounded.
The statement further sought to separate the President’s family from the business and regulatory issues surrounding Nawara Mining, particularly amid questions about the circumstances surrounding the withdrawal of the company’s licence.
The controversy has drawn attention to the relationship between government officials, politically connected individuals and businesses operating within Ghana’s mining industry, where decisions involving licences and regulatory approvals often attract public scrutiny.
However, management insisted that Alfred Mahama should not be linked to the matter, reiterating that he had no involvement in the revocation process and was not a shareholder in the companies mentioned.
The clarification is expected to contribute to the ongoing public discussion surrounding Nawara Mining’s licence revocation and the allegations involving individuals believed to have connections to the Mahama family.
Management has therefore maintained its position that Alfred Mahama has no direct ownership or operational involvement in CMS-PRO and A&A Southern Industries Ltd and was not part of the decision to revoke Nawara Mining’s licence.
