Emile Dortley Receives Second Red Card of the Season in Kaizer Chiefs Setback
Emile Dortley, a defender for the Kaizer Chiefs, took another step back in his disciplinary career in the 2026–27 season when he was sent off in the match against Siwelele FC.Amakhosi already have a tough time making the team’s starting lineup, and this latest dismissal means the young defender will be suspended for a second time.Because of his previous dismissal, which occurred on the first matchday of the season against Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates, Dortley’s most recent sending-off is especially worrisome.
Concerns regarding the defender’s discipline and capacity to handle pressure during competitive matches have been raised by his two red cards thus far in the season. His attempts to become a regular player for the Kaizer Chiefs could be hindered by the multiple suspensions he has received. Dortley still needs to work on his discipline, but he has shown promise and is considered a player with a lot of potential.
If he doesn’t show up for future games, head coach Fernando Da Cruz will have to make yet another defensive call.Finding adequate cover while keeping the team competitive will be Chiefs’ top priority. If Dortley wants to get back on the team, he needs to take a page out of both incidents and try not to get benched too often.
