Social Media Is Free, If You’re Beautiful, Post Yourself and Leverage on It – Becca Advises Artisans

Ghanaian singer Rebecca Akosua Acheampomaa Acheampong, popularly known as Becca, has encouraged beneficiaries of the Honeyday Foundation outreach programme organised by Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, and his wife, Gifty Dumelo, to take advantage of social media to promote themselves and their businesses.

The award-winning musician shared the advice while addressing artisans who benefited from the foundation’s outreach, urging them to recognise the opportunities available on digital platforms and use them to attract customers.

According to Becca, social media provides an accessible platform through which individuals can showcase their talents, build their personal brands and reach potential clients without necessarily spending money on traditional advertising.

She stressed that people should not underestimate the importance of presenting themselves positively online, particularly when they possess qualities or skills that can attract public attention.

During her interaction with the beneficiaries, the singer stated, “Social media is free. If you’re beautiful, post yourself and leverage on it.”

Her remarks encouraged the artisans to become more intentional about how they present their work and personalities on social media, explaining that the platforms could serve as useful tools for business growth.

For individuals working in trades such as fashion design, hairstyling, beauty services and other forms of craftsmanship, social media can provide an opportunity to display completed projects and introduce their services to a wider audience.

Through platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, artisans can share pictures and videos of their work, interact with potential customers and establish an online presence that supports their businesses.

Becca’s advice also highlighted the importance of personal branding, as customers often develop interest in a business through the personality, presentation and quality of work displayed by its owner.

The singer’s interaction with the beneficiaries formed part of activities surrounding the Honeyday Foundation outreach, which was organised by John Dumelo and his wife to support artisans.

The initiative brought together individuals in various trades, providing an opportunity to engage with them and offer encouragement towards improving their livelihoods.

John Dumelo, who represents Ayawaso West Wuogon in Parliament, has also been involved in initiatives aimed at supporting people within his constituency.

The participation of Becca added an entertainment industry perspective to the engagement, particularly through her emphasis on using digital platforms as a tool for visibility and business development.

Her message serves as a reminder that social media is not limited to entertainment and personal interactions, but can also provide valuable opportunities for people to market their skills, attract customers and develop their businesses.

For the artisans who attended the outreach, the advice was to make better use of the platforms available to them and turn their online presence into an opportunity for professional and financial growth.
