Linda Mwananchi Kwale Rally Takes a Dramatic Turn as Focus Shifts to Road Conditions in the Region

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has raised concerns over the poor condition of a road in Kwale County after his Linda Mwananchi convoy encountered difficulties while travelling from Kinango towards Kwale Town.

In a message shared on Saturday, October 31, Sifuna described the journey as challenging, pointing to potholes and sections filled with water along the road.

“Barabara kutoka Kinango kuelekea Kwale Town ni kuruka vihunzi na maji lakini tutafika tu, Inshallah,” Sifuna stated.

His remarks, which highlighted the challenges facing motorists using the route, quickly attracted attention as the senator continued his political engagements in the coastal county.

Sifuna was leading a delegation of Linda Mwananchi leaders on a grassroots mobilisation tour aimed at meeting local aspirants and strengthening the movement’s presence in Kwale.

The tour came just a day after the movement officially unveiled its new political identity and opened its national headquarters in Lavington, Nairobi.

The delegation had planned several stops across the county, including Samburu, Kinango, Kombani Junction and Lunga Lunga, before holding a major public rally at Ukunda Showground.

The visit also provided an opportunity for the movement to interact with local leaders seeking political positions ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Sifuna’s experience on the Kinango-Kwale road has also brought attention to the state of infrastructure in the region, with poor roads potentially affecting transport, businesses and residents who depend on them daily.

The Nairobi Senator has increasingly taken his political activities beyond the capital as Linda Mwananchi seeks to establish a wider grassroots network.

The movement is also preparing for a National Delegates Convention scheduled for November 13 as it works towards strengthening its leadership structures.

With the 2027 elections approaching, Sifuna’s visit to the Coast has added another chapter to his growing political campaign. His comments have also placed the condition of the Kinango-Kwale road in the spotlight.
