KPLC Announces Planned Long Blackouts Tomorrow, Saturday: Check If You’ll Be Affected

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions in parts of Siaya and Kajiado counties on Saturday, October 31, to facilitate maintenance and upgrade works on its electricity network.

According to the utility’s maintenance notice, the outages will affect customers in Kibiku and Ngong areas of Kajiado County, as well as Wagwer in Siaya County.

In Kajiado, electricity supply will be interrupted from 8am to 5pm in Kibiku and Ngong. The affected areas include Gichagi, Ngong Police, Lemiso, Maragara Road, Ngere Road, Berra, Forgotten, Kimuka, Sakuka Mallow, Oleshoboro and Saikeri.

Other affected locations include Drive 2–4, Ngong Hills, Manyatta and areas around Kengen, alongside neighbouring customers.

In Siaya County, residents and businesses in Wagwer will experience a power outage between 9am and 3pm. The interruption will affect Wagwer Primary School, Wagwer Secondary School and adjacent customers.

Kenya Power said periodic interruptions are necessary to facilitate maintenance and upgrades of power lines, connect new customers and replace electricity infrastructure during road construction works.

Customers in the affected areas are advised to make alternative arrangements for the duration of the scheduled interruptions.
