During one of the stops, the former deputy president spoke about party nominations scheduled for March 2027 but appeared to name UDA instead of DCP, the party he has been promoting since his fallout with President William Ruto.

His remarks appeared to be a slip of the tongue, given that he has previously promised DCP aspirants a transparent nomination process in which voters would determine who receives the party's tickets. He announced the March 2027 timeline during a party event in Nakuru in August.
During the same rally, Gachagua rallied residents behind Kajiado North MP Onesmus Ngogoyo, thanking them for electing him to Parliament and urging them to support his continued leadership.
Ngogoyo won the Kajiado North parliamentary seat in the 2022 General Election on a UDA ticket. He has since aligned himself with Gachagua, who has been building DCP's support base following his political fallout with Ruto.
The former deputy president has intensified his political mobilisation in Kajiado County as he seeks to strengthen DCP's grassroots structures and attract leaders ahead of the 2027 polls.
