Ghana U-15 boys to face Brazil in FIFA Festival ranking play-offs

Ghana’s National U-15 Boys team will face Brazil in the Tier A ranking play-offs for fifth to eighth place at the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan.

The match follows Ghana’s painful quarter-final exit after losing 7-6 on penalties to Paraguay on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.

The quarter-final encounter ended 2-2 in regulation time, but the young Ghanaian side failed to hold their nerve in the shootout, bringing their seven-match winning streak to an end.

Under the competition’s format, the four quarter-final losers will compete in ranking matches to determine their final positions among the tournament’s top eight teams.

Ghana will therefore face Brazil, with the outcome determining their final standing in the FIFA Talent Development Scheme competition.

Despite missing out on a semi-final place, the National U-15 Boys have enjoyed an impressive campaign, recording seven victories in eight matches.

Their performances have been particularly notable in attack, with the team scoring 36 goals throughout the tournament.

The young Ghanaian side demonstrated their quality in the group stage and knockout rounds, securing important victories before their penalty shootout defeat to Paraguay.
