Tompolo Backs Tinubu’s Re-election, Donates 30 Vehicles for 2027 Campaign

By Emmanuel Kwada High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, arguing that the President deserves another four-year term to consolidate his administration’s economic reforms.

Tompolo made his position known on Tuesday during the inauguration of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Imo State, where he donated 30 vehicles to support grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Represented by the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Limited, Chief Kestin Pondi, the Niger Delta figure said the vehicles and other resources were provided to support Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma and the movement’s campaign activities. According to Tompolo, Tinubu has demonstrated courage by pursuing economic reforms since assuming office in May 2023, despite the difficulties associated with implementing major policy changes. “Our President, President Bola Tinubu, is a very courageous man. A man who puts Nigeria first. A man who loves Nigeria more than he loves himself,” Tompolo said through his representative. He added that Tinubu had prioritised reforming the country rather than making decisions based solely on political calculations. Pondi, while presenting the vehicles, said the movement would work with Uzodimma and other political leaders to take the President’s re-election campaign to households and communities across Imo State. “Your Excellency, we have come with vehicles. We have come with resources. These vehicles you have seen, there are 30 of them. We brought them to Imo State to support you in your cause to re-elect President Bola Tinubu,” he said. He also assured the governor that the movement would remain available to support campaign activities whenever required. Reacting to the donation, Uzodimma commended Tompolo for providing logistical support for the movement, describing the initiative as part of efforts to secure another term for Tinubu. The governor said those supporting the President had decided to mobilise for his re-election to enable him to continue his administration’s programmes. Earlier, the National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Asuku, urged Nigerians to remain patient with the administration, arguing that the current economic difficulties could give way to long-term benefits if the reforms succeed. Asuku maintained that Tinubu had laid a foundation for economic development during his first three and a half years in office and should be given another term to consolidate the gains. He acknowledged that reforms often come with short-term hardships but argued that such difficulties could be necessary to achieve sustainable economic growth. “Where there is reform, we are expected to go through some pains. But it is a pain that guarantees long-term prosperity. And we can get through for sure,” Asuku said. He also challenged opposition politicians to explain their records in public office, urging voters to assess their previous performances before making decisions at the polls. The development adds to the growing political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election, as supporters of the President seek to build grassroots structures across the country. However, the outcome of the election will ultimately depend on voters, who will assess the administration’s economic performance, policies and campaign promises alongside those of other candidates. 📰 Get Latest News Updates Join our Telegram group and receive breaking and trending news updates directly on your phone.
