Ngozi Nwosu faces complications three months after surgery

The management of Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu has disclosed that she is still recovering from surgery, three months after undergoing the procedure, following unexpected complications.

In an update shared on Instagram on Wednesday alongside a video of the actress on a hospital bed, her team said Nwosu was still healing and had yet to return to her usual self.

According to the management, the actress decided to address the public personally to express gratitude to those who supported her during her health crisis.

The statement read, “Over three months ago, so many of you showed up with love, prayers, and support when she needed it most. We are still incredibly grateful for every single person who gave, shared her story, sent a message, or kept her in their prayers.

“Since then, she has undergone one surgery, but her recovery journey has come with some unexpected complications. While she is still healing and not quite back to herself yet, she felt it was important to come before you personally, say thank you, and let you know how things have been.

“It has been a journey, and we are taking it one day at a time, trusting God for complete healing and strength for the days ahead.

“To everyone who has stood by her in one way or another, thank you. Your kindness has made a difference in ways words cannot fully express.

“As she continues on this journey, we kindly ask that you keep her in your thoughts and prayers. And for those who may still wish to support her along the way, every little gesture of kindness remains deeply appreciated.”

The latest update follows Nwosu’s public appeal for financial assistance in July 2026, when she revealed that she had been hospitalised for three weeks and needed N30 million for three surgeries to treat an undisclosed ailment.

In a video shared on social media at the time, the actress appealed to fans, colleagues and well wishers to help fund her treatment.

The Abia State Government subsequently paid N25 million directly to the hospital treating her, following a pledge by Governor Alex Otti to support her medical expenses.

Actress Eucharia Anunobi also rallied support for Nwosu during a church programme in Asaba, Delta State. She later disclosed that members of the congregation contributed N101,400, which she transferred to Nwosu’s account.

Nwosu’s management has continued to appeal for prayers and support as the actress works towards a full recovery.
