Kenyans on the Edge as Ruto Set to Make Major Announcement at 6PM

Kenyans are eagerly awaiting President William Ruto’s scheduled evening address as speculation continues to grow over what the Head of State intends to announce.

State House Press Secretary Emmanuel Talam announced that the President would deliver a recorded address at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. However, the specific subject of the announcement has not been officially disclosed, leaving many Kenyans curious about what the President has planned.

The anticipation has intensified following the circulation of a teaser video showing a modern football stadium with red and green seats, a well-maintained pitch and images suggesting a major sporting-related development.

The video has prompted speculation that the announcement could be linked to the Talanta Stadium project in Nairobi. However, neither State House nor the President has confirmed whether the facility is directly connected to the planned address.

The Talanta Stadium project has attracted public attention as Kenya continues to invest in sports infrastructure and prepare for major football events. Consequently, some Kenyans are wondering whether the President could be preparing to share significant news about the country’s sporting ambitions.

Ruto is also in Moscow, Russia, where he is attending the Third Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum. His visit is focused on strengthening economic relations, attracting investment and exploring opportunities to expand trade between Kenya and other countries.

It remains unclear whether the announcement will focus on sports infrastructure, an economic initiative or another government programme.

Kenyans are expected to follow the address through the President’s official social media platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, X, Instagram and TikTok.

As the scheduled time approaches, public interest continues to build, with many waiting for the President to clarify the purpose of the announcement.

For now, the details remain undisclosed. Until Ruto delivers his address, claims about the subject of the announcement remain speculation.
