Ruth Odinga Sparks Reactions After Video of Her Boxing at the Gym Emerges

Former Kisumu Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga has attracted attention on social media after a video showing her boxing during a gym workout circulated online.

The video captures Ruth wearing boxing gloves as she stands in front of a heavy punching bag, throwing several punches while maintaining her balance and rhythm. Her focused approach to the exercise has drawn reactions from Kenyans, with some praising her commitment to fitness.

The footage has offered viewers a glimpse into a different side of Ruth, who is widely known for her political engagements and association with the prominent Odinga family.

Following the circulation of the clip, social media users shared their views, with some applauding her energy and dedication to maintaining an active lifestyle. Others responded humorously, making light-hearted remarks about her punching skills and joking about what her political opponents might think of the workout.

Ruth previously served as Kisumu Deputy Governor and remains a familiar figure in Kenya’s political and public affairs. However, the boxing video has shifted attention away from her usual political activities, giving her followers something different to discuss.

The workout has also sparked conversations about the importance of physical exercise, particularly among people with demanding professional responsibilities.

Boxing is a popular fitness activity that combines cardiovascular exercise, strength, balance and coordination. When practised correctly, it can help improve endurance and contribute to overall physical well-being.

For Ruth, the gym session has provided an opportunity for Kenyans to see her engaging in an activity outside her public and political life.

The video continues to attract interest from social media users, with reactions ranging from praise for her fitness efforts to playful commentary about the footage.
