Your Economy Is Only Good On Paper – Fatimatu Tells Ato Forson As NDC Boys Cry Online

Former Information Minister, Fatimatu Abubakar, has taken a swipe at the Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, claiming that he is not popular even within his own party.

According to Fatimatu, despite the government telling Ghanaians that the economy is doing well, the real story on the ground is different. She says the footsoldiers of the NDC themselves are complaining bitterly on social media.

In a post that is generating a lot of talk online, the former Minister pointed out that if the economy was truly as good as the NDC claims, their own supporters would be the first to celebrate it.

But that is not what is happening, she argued.

Instead, she says when you go on Facebook, X, and TikTok, you see NDC footsoldiers crying about hardship, high cost of living, and lack of jobs. For her, that proves that the Finance Minister’s work is not being felt by the people – not even by his own party people.

Fatimatu Abubakar’s point is simple. A Finance Minister’s popularity is not about big English or press conferences in Accra. It is about whether the ordinary person in the market, the driver, the student, and even your own party supporter feels the improvement in his pocket.

She claims that Ato Forson is failing that test.

Her comment has sparked a debate online. While NPP supporters are agreeing with her and sharing posts of NDC supporters complaining, some NDC supporters say the government needs more time to fix the economy and that Fatimatu is just doing politics.

But one thing is clear – Ghanaians are watching closely to see if the economy will truly get better for everyone, not just in government reports.
