“You Are a Boy”: MySol Fires Shots at Julius Malema After EFF Leader Calls Him Out at Rally
Mining tycoon MySol has hit back at Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema after the politician took aim at him during a party rally ahead of South Africa’s November local elections.
The businessman, whose real name is Madibela, responded to Malema through his WhatsApp status after the EFF leader publicly called him out at the party’s Tshela Thupa Rally at Letlhabile Stadium on Saturday, 24 October 2026.
MySol’s response quickly circulated online, sparking debate among South Africans about black entrepreneurship, political allegiance and the EFF’s stance towards successful black businesspeople.
The exchange comes just days before the November 4 local elections, with political parties intensifying their campaigns to win over voters.
Malema reportedly targeted Madibela during a speech centred on the need for greater black ownership of South Africa’s mining industry.
The EFF leader’s remarks drew cheers from the crowd, but the confrontation prompted mixed reactions on social media, with some questioning why a black entrepreneur who built a successful business was being singled out.
Madibela’s journey has attracted attention because he reportedly started his career as a site clerk after matric before establishing MySol Holdings, which grew into a major chrome producer employing thousands of people.
The businessman has also publicly stated that he does not use social media, making his response to Malema particularly interesting.
Rather than addressing the EFF leader on platforms such as X or Instagram, MySol used his WhatsApp status to deliver his message. He also encouraged his contacts to screenshot and circulate his posts so that his response could reach a wider audience.
In his WhatsApp status updates shared in the early hours of Sunday, 25 October, MySol did not hold back when responding to the politician.
“Malema o ngwana boy. Screenshot boys and send him… People must work hard for opportunities chief…. O je bogobe boy, u need energy,” he wrote.
His message, which mixes English and Setswana, appeared to suggest that Malema was the one behaving like a boy and needed to focus on hard work and building his strength.
The mining magnate also shared what appeared to be an AI-generated image depicting Malema looking gaunt, seemingly adding another jab to his response.
Screenshots of the posts subsequently circulated online, drawing attention to the growing public spat between the businessman and the EFF leader.
The exchange triggered strong reactions, with some social media users siding with MySol and praising his entrepreneurial journey.
@MaxNomaNini, suggested: “It’s hard being an EFF supporter, yerrr. Now they must start hating Mysol because Julius hates him Lmaoooooooooooooo. Mind you, Mysol has done more for black people than Malema,” the user wrote.
Another user, @Mao_Azania, accused Malema of being unhappy when black entrepreneurs succeed independently.
“Julius Malema is not happy when indigenous Africans succeed in business in South Africa(MySol),” the user commented, adding criticism of what they described as the EFF leader’s political rhetoric.
However, not everyone was sympathetic towards the mining tycoon. Some users appeared to welcome his response to Malema, with @ZuluSweG writing: “MySol is cooking this fraud.”
With the November 4 local elections approaching, the public exchange between MySol and Malema has added another talking point to an already heated political season.
