Ndindi Nyoro Hits Back at Mt Kenya Rivals Over His PPK Move

Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has fiercely defended his decision to adopt the People’s Party of Kenya (PPK), hitting back at Mt. Kenya political rivals and accusing them of waging a coordinated propaganda campaign against his political survival.

Speaking in response to escalating attacks from former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Democracy and Civic Party (DCP) faction, Nyoro urged regional leaders to stop treating his independent career moves as an act of war. Dismissing accusations that launching PPK fractures Mt. Kenya’s political unity, the Kiharu lawmaker pointed out the hypocrisy of his critics, noting that the region already hosts over 32 registered political outfits led by figures like Martha Karua, Jimmy Wanjigi, and Justin Muturi.

“There are 32 political parties in Mt. Kenya region alone. Those who founded and handed us PPK come from Limuru in Kiambu,” Nyoro stated. “I am just a young man who built a small house that I must nurture. If we view this as a young man trying to build himself and survive in politics, why would anyone fight me?”

Nyoro directly challenged Gachagua and DCP strategists to cease funding vernacular radio attacks portraying him as a state project. He urged opposition forces to redirect their energy toward addressing the economic hardships facing ordinary citizens and challenging President William Ruto’s administration, rather than tearing down emerging leaders within their own backyard.

As Mt. Kenya’s political landscape fragments ahead of the 2027 General Election, Nyoro’s PPK vehicle represents a high-stakes bid to carve out an independent power base. How effectively he navigates regional rivalries will determine whether his new political house survives the turbulent road ahead.
