Mosiria Reveals Details of Early Meeting With Matiang’i and Nyoro as Nairobi 2027 Plans Take Shape
Geoffrey Mosiria has sparked fresh political interest after revealing details of a meeting with two prominent leaders, former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, as he continues to position himself ahead of the 2027 Nairobi gubernatorial race.
In a message shared after the meeting, Mosiria described the two leaders as individuals whose records speak for themselves. He used the occasion to push his message that Nairobi needs a leader focused on work and service delivery rather than political slogans.
“Nairobi is not ready for a politician; it needs a worker!” Mosiria declared, making it clear that his approach to the city’s leadership would centre on practical results.
The meeting has drawn attention because it brings Mosiria’s name into the same conversation as two leaders who have built their own political profiles. However, he did not disclose the specific agenda discussed or announce any political agreement involving Matiang’i and Nyoro.
Mosiria also used the statement to outline his vision for Nairobi, arguing that residents deserve leadership backed by a record of actual work. He said he was ready to cooperate with leaders who share his ambition of addressing the challenges facing the capital.
“It’s time to move from politics to results-oriented leadership backed by verifiable track records,” he stated, adding that the era of sloganeering and what he termed lazy theft should come to an end.
His remarks appear aimed at a city where residents continue to raise concerns about service delivery, waste management, infrastructure and the general condition of neighbourhoods.
Mosiria, who has repeatedly expressed interest in the Nairobi governor’s seat in 2027, ended his message with a rallying call, declaring that the city could be fixed through cooperation among like-minded leaders.
He also made a pointed reference to Governor Mike Sonko, saying the former governor was the only person missing from the meeting to make the Nairobi picture complete.
As political conversations ahead of 2027 gather pace, the big question is whether the meeting was simply a discussion among leaders or could lead to closer political cooperation.
For Nairobi residents, however, the more important question remains: What practical changes would Mosiria bring to the city if he gets the opportunity to lead it?
