Methu Names Three Leaders Who’ll Sit To Pick Flagbearer For Opposition, Matiangi,Karua Not Mentioned

Nyandarua Senator John Methu has officially revealed the core political lineup tasked with deciding the opposition’s presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to media reports from A.M. Media, the vibrant lawmaker has publicly identified former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna as the three key figures who have agreed to sit at the negotiation table to agree on a unified flagbearer.

The announcement has sent significant ripples across the nation’s political landscape, especially as heavyweights such as former Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and Martha Karua have remained notably absent from the named team.

Senator Methu has made these remarks during the massive Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) rally held in Nyahururu Town, where opposition leaders have gathered to popularize the ‘Wantam’ (one-term) movement.

Speaking to thousands of local residents, Methu has reassured supporters that the trio has maintained close communication to ensure a seamless alignment of opposition forces.

This strategic revelation has come shortly after Gachagua has broken his silence to applaud the massive reception his team has received in Nyahururu while resting at his Wamunyoro home following his return from the United States.

The former Second-in-Command has consistently reaffirmed that the United Alternative Government has remained on track to deliver a new administration over the next 288 days.

By publicly outlining this strategic tripartite negotiation framework, Senator Methu and his fellow DCP leaders, including Governor Irungu Kang’ata and Senator Karungo wa Thang’wa, have demonstrated clear direction for their coalition.

The opposition machinery has continued to build formidable momentum, signaling a unified front as key principals prepare to deliberate on the ultimate presidential ticket.
