The Nigeria Democratic Congress has constituted its National Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections.

It named its National Leader, Senator Henry Dickson, as chairman and presidential candidate Peter Obi as co-chairman.

The party announced the appointments in a statement posted on its X account on Sunday.

It said the council would coordinate campaign activities nationwide and mobilise support for its vision of a “new, just, and prosperous Nigeria”.

The party’s National Chairman and vice-presidential candidate, Senator Cleopas Zuwoghe, was named vice-chairman, while Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso was appointed co-vice-chairman.

The NDC’s National Secretary, Ikenna Enekweizu, was also listed among the council’s leadership, while Ibrahim Abdulkarim was named council secretary and Director-General.

According to the party, the council would provide strategic leadership and drive a “people-centred and issue-based campaign” ahead of the elections.

The NDC urged its members, supporters and Nigerians to remain united and focused as it prepares for the 2027 polls.

“A new and working Nigeria is possible,” the party added.
