Bank of Agriculture has given out about 700 billion naira to 400,000 farmers in the north -Mohammed
According to a video on Arise TV on Saturday October 25, 2026, the Coordinating Chairman of Arewa for Asiwaju FCT, Alhaji Shittu Mohammed has revealed how President Bola Tinubu is converting crowd mobilization into actual votes at the grassroots.
The Arewa leader was answering a question on how his group intends to convert its planned mobilization of 10,000 supporters from 19 Northern states into real votes at polling units during the 2027 general elections.
Mohammed said the North is agrarian and that is why the Tinubu administration focused on agriculture by resuscitating the moribund Bank of Agriculture which has been dead for years.
He disclosed that within one year of its resuscitation, the Bank has disbursed about N700 billion to 400,000 farmers in the North, a move he said will boost agricultural production and secure grassroots support.
He stated, “The moribund Bank of Agriculture has been resuscitated and within this few, one year that it has been resuscitated, it has given out about 700 billion naira to 400,000 farmers in the north and that means we boost our agricultural sector this time around, which will continue.”
The Chairman also highlighted the NELFUND student loan scheme as another strategy to win young voters, saying the problem of youths is employment and education and Tinubu has addressed education through the loan.
He explained, “You can also look at NELFUND because the problem of the young ones is employment and education. So we focus on the education side where you have NELFUND giving out money for students in our institutions.”
Mohammed said the loan will go a long way in providing succour for all Northern students in tertiary institutions and will help reduce out-of-school children and youth restiveness in the region.
He added that the administration is also renovating primary and secondary schools across the North and boosting electricity to support rural communities, insisting that these are concrete things on ground to convince voters.
He concluded that with agriculture funding, education loans and infrastructural projects, Arewa for Asiwaju has enough achievements to sell Tinubu to grassroots voters and secure their votes in 2027.
